Keeshond dog is favorite breed that within few centuries evolved as an pet dogs and loyal friend. They are descendants of north pole dogs such as Samoyed, Spitz, and Norwegian Elkhound, and considered ancestral of Mini Pomeranian.

Fate brought Keeshond involved the political scene in Netherlands that preceded France Revolution. Fighter Leader is a man named Kees de Gyselaer, that has ship dog named Kees. Kees and his dog appeared in many political caricatures where they became a symbol of fighters. Unfortunates happens to Keeshond, where the fighters unable to obtain victory, that resulted many Keeshond owners throw their dogs for fear being labeled as a fighters member. Another thing that makes things worse for this canine is increasingly growing size for existing barges that make they became not favorite as ship dogs. However Keeshond managed hold on because effort some farmers and rowers although with low profile circumstances.
In 1920, Baroness van Hardenbroek initiate efforts to save the remaining Keeshond. Through his efforts he successfully introduce this breeds to England in 1925, and was followed by recognition from the AKC in 1930. Now Keeshond Dog became Netherlands national canine .
