Yorkshire Terrier dog is a small dog of terrier dog breeds, bred since the 19th century in the historical area of Yorkshire city, England to catch rats in the fabric factory. Yorkshire terrier is often also used as a toy terrier.
Yorkshire Terrier dogs traces to the Waterside Terrier,a longish coated small dog, and a bluish gray. Waterside Terrier bred by crossing English Terrier Black and Tan wire-haired (generally located in the Manchester) and the Paisley and Clydesdale Terriers. Then in the middle of the 19th century weavers who migrated from Scotland to England to bring the dog.
In 1861, Britain held a bench show. Therein the first time Yorkshire Terrier appear and then considered as broken-haired Scotch Terrier. In 1870 after Wesmoreland show, a magazine reporter reported that Scotch terrier is no longer called as the Scotch Terrier, but was replaced with a Yorkshire Terrier.
Yorkie Terrier had long hair like a coat depend on the straight and equally long on each side, splitting hairs middle from nose to tip of tail. His hair was quite long, perfectly straight not wavy, glossy; textured smooth as silk, under coat cotton hairless. On the head, long flowing hair, golden brown, colored in at the side head, such as the ears roots and muzzle where required a long size. Brownish yellow color on the head should not be extended to the neck, not too black or dark-colored hair mixed with brownish yellow.
Yorkshire has a dark steel blue color not silvery blue, extending from occiput to tip of tail, not mixed with color fawn, bronze or dark colors. Hair color on the chest consists of a bright tawny color. All tawny color darker on the roots than in the middle and the more faded and lighter at the ends.
Yorkshire terrier height is 15 cm -17.5 cm, equivalent with 6 inches - 7 inches. And weighs about 7 pounds or the equivalent of 3.2 kg.
Although small, the Yorkshire Terrier is an active dog, overprotective, loving attention, and should not show the soft temperament, highly dense and neat, firm innate and shows ruling traits.
